Qualitas C.Y.A. Troubleshooting


Qualitas C.Y.A. installs and provides trouble-free performance on most systems. If you do encounter difficulties, we want to get C.Y.A working for you as quickly as possible. The situations below have been reported by our customers. Following each is a solution or a workaround that should get C.Y.A. working on your system. If you don't see your question listed below, please let us know by sending email to . We'll respond as quickly as possible.

Error extracting DUNZIP.DLL followed by errors extracting remaining C.Y.A. files

This error occurs during SETUP because you have an older version of the DUNZIP.DLL file somewhere on your hard drive. It should be easy to resolve this error and get C.Y.A. installed on your system by using these instructions.

  1. Find the old version of the DUNZIP.DLL on your hard drive. You can use Find from Start in Windows 95 or use file manager to look through your files in Windows 3.1x.
  2. After locating the file, rename it to a name other than DUNZIP.DLL. Be sure you choose a name that is not used for any of your other files (we use DUNZIP.ZZZ). You can rename a file from the Find dialog in Windows 95 by clicking on File on the menu bar and choosing rename. In Windows 3.1x, do the same from file manager. If you find more than one copy of the file, rename each one you find.
  3. Now run SETUP from the C.Y.A. installation disk.

Qualitas C.Y.A. should install without errors.

Error parsing value while running Capture or Compare or System appears to lock while running Capture or Compare

These symptoms can occur if C.Y.A. encounters a line in your registry that seems to have invalid characters. We've already updated C.Y.A. to include some special cases our customers have found since release. Download the newest version of Qualitas C.Y.A. to see if it resolves this problem on your system. The file is a self-extracting zip. Just follow the instructions in cyapatch.doc to apply the patch.
