Announcing Qualitas C.Y.A. v1.5

C.Y.A. adds NT support -- and more.

SILVER SPRING, MD -- February 3, 1997 -- Qualitas, Inc. announced today it will be shipping version 1.5 of its popular Qualitas C.Y.A. product in March. Qualitas C.Y.A. provides an easy solution for diagnosing and recovering from potentially harmful Windows Registry changes. Version 1.5 adds support for Windows NT and more.

Qualitas C.Y.A. saves a baseline copy of your Windows Registry in addition to other system and Windows files. If Windows becomes unstable due to changes made by other applications, C.Y.A. lets you undo the changes. This is especially important with NT since the Registry is modified by each application’s setup program and is essential for Windows to function properly. Microsoft states in their documentation that "Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system wide problems that may require you to reinstall Windows NT to correct them."

"Version 1.5 is targeted at corporate NT users, or those users who are migrating to NT in the future and want Registry protection." said Mary Stanley, CEO of Qualitas. "The Registry is still such a black box that System Administrators can’t spend the time cleaning up systems that no longer work because of newly installed software."

Qualitas C.Y.A. will install on workstations or the NT server. On a multi-user NT workstation it will monitor the Registry for each user and allow individual Registry restores. If all Registry information is kept on the NT Server, Qualitas C.Y.A. can track changes made there and restore accordingly for each user. Version 1.5 also offers faster Registry captures and restores and a quick search feature to locate changes.

Qualitas C.Y.A. 1.5 has been available since March for an MSRP of $39.99. Electronic, unboxed copies are available through the Qualitas web site at http://www.qualitas.com for $25.99. Qualitas also has a corporate licensing program available.
